Perceptions, attitude and practices toward elderly depression among primary health care physicians, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 2021.

Background: Elderly people need to care services in particular maintain a high quality of life and health status. Managing the needs geriatric patients is part continuity family physicians provide their patients. Aims: assess physicians' attitude, perception practice toward depression elderly primary sitting.Methodology: A cross- sectional study attitude perceptions practices centers King Saud medical city Riyadh, kingdom Saudi Arabia using self-administrated questionnaire Results: We received 210 responses our with response rate 100% where 51% them were females. PHC routinely screen for sleep disturbance (79%), loss interest or pleasure sad mood (72%), decreased energy (63%) order diagnosis depression. Moreover, we found that 56% would use clinical guidelines treatment Furthermore, main barriers adequate depressed rejection (22% indicated it as major problem) difficulty access mental community (19% problem).Conclusion: most Riyadh show positive however, there are some limitations knowledge about symptoms restriction guideline.
